Standard fire policy usually covers fire and lightning damage to property, subject to some exceptions where insured can ask to cover additional named perils such earthquake, explosion, electrical injury, wind storm, water damage, flood, vehicle impact, vandalism and malicious act, riot and strike by paying additional premium.
